So wandering through the streets of Lomè the other day left me standing in front of a large film developing center, and being so prepared I had a roll of used up film with me. So in 30 mins I held in my hands some photos during training. The quality isn't the best but beggars can not be choosers lovelies.

This is obviously me, taken by my 5 year old sister and she didn't look through the view finder? thus the weirdly cropped image. My clothes are hanging off me all weird due to the rapid weight loss.

My little sister (who took the above picture) drawing on the chalkboard. She is an amazing artist.

This is my home at my post. It is PIMP in my opinion.

My little brother and sister drawing on the chalkboard again. I gave them a ton of colored pencils and chalk. I am already missing them!

And last, but certainly not least is Alphonse waiting for Thankgiving dinner. I constantly reminded him that there would be no fou fou, he didn't seem too disappointed.

I will be sure to send more photos soon when I have the time and money again. Thanks for the comments. Lots of love!

Dear Jessica,

How fabulous you look, and you have a great smile....I wish I looked as good as you do with no makeup...Just to see your face again is great---you look really happy there, and your little brother and little sister and big brother are very nice looking and look like very nice people...Say Hi to your Mama there and to them, also, for me and please tell them thank you from me for being sooooo good to my beautiful granddaughter....also:

Are you sure your house is "pimp" or did you mean "pink???" I know---You hate the French keyboards...

Thanks so much for the photos---they are a treasure....Ants better not be crawling all over you...you've had enough problems with breaking out from your shots and chopping off your beautiful hair, and I knew you'd make it, Kid!!!!! How was your speech??? Bet it was great, like you...You are the very bravest---I'll think of you as "Wonder Woman, II."

Love always,
Grandma Andrea

PS: Now I'm heading to the Victorian Streetwalk downtown, and hope to see you and go with you there in 2010, here in Saratoga Springs....We still have no snow, but it's getting pretty cold out...I am at the library right now, checking out my e-mail...Love you, Jess!!!!

Hi Jessica,

It's moi again...Your wonderful Grandmother....(yeah, right..ha, ha...)
You know I sew, or used to, a lot, and it looks like your little sister's dress has a zipper down the back...If I find some zippers I'll send them for your host family, or if you're sewing for yourself the you can use them...let me know what you would like as far as sewing notions go, as I may have a lot of stuff for you and them to use, since they are tailors, and I hope you will be seeing them all every once in awhile...

Love,
Grandma Andrea

I heard they made you a beautiful dress for graduation, and that it has blackbirds on it, because you like them...nice...

So Jesse......

I'm still here, and I know you're lonely in your new home...BUT it's time to go to bed and get some beauty sleep....God will watch over you, so you will be fine...I know you're a "night person" like me, so I'll bet you're still up, but we're all with you, too, even if you don't see us in the same room, we're all here saying our prayers that you'll stay safe and happy, and healthy...so no more nightmares...

Love,
Grandma Andrea

Hi, Jessica,

I am trying to get a box ready to mail to you tomorrow for Christmas...I will cram all I can into it and it can't be over 20 lbs. or it'll cost about $100. to send it to you, and I can only afford to pay the $40. it costs for 20 pounds....if it goes over 20 pounds in the proper size Priority PO box it goes to the $100 price...I had the stuff packed once, but it was in a regular box...and I was told it's better to send in in the one price Priority, so if I get it together, and force stuff into the right box that is now in my apt...and not go over the 20 pounds, then it should go out tomorrow afternoon and I hope you get it for Christmas, in time......I will be really angry if you don't get it for Christmas, or if anything happens to it...

I love you, and hope you are safe...I understand your friend went home and she quit, so now you have a motorcycle and a motorcycle helmet and are covering two schools...That is really something...I am so proud to be your grandmother...Be careful, and always watch your back, now that you live alone...

Bedtime, "nightowl"....night, night...I'll bet the school children really love you....

Love always,
Grandma Andrea

Hi, Jessica,

Look for the pkg. in about 10 days, more or less---I was wrong about the mailing price(Priority Mail, which is the cheapest, I believe)...I could've mailed a little larger box for about $50.00, but I didn't know that till I got to the po this afternoon..I wanted to send more, but I did the best I could...I tried not to waste any space in that bloomin' box, and I had to take out a couple of things..I sent some tissue, in case you might be using palm tree leaves....just a little joke, or is it???? I hope your gifts aren't scrunched too much so as to break or bend or anything like that, and I know that if everything is not too messed up you will like the stuff---I hope...

Love, and get some sleep,
Grandma Andrea (and "Peachy")

Copy and paste this link into your computer and you will see the only article I have been able to find about Jess's swearing in ceremony. I think that might be her on the left side of the photo with her head turned to the side...not sure though.

Hi, Jesse,

Wish I knew how to copy and paste so I could see you at your swearing in ceremony, as my dear daughter Tracy said we should do...I'm sooooooooo spoiled by the librarians at our beautiful library, where I practically live, that when it comes to copying and pasting, on the computer, I just let them do it for me...I pretty much only know the basics, so what can I say, but I'll bet you looked very pretty in your new outfit your host family made for you...I think I'll get the book on how to work the computer for "dummies."

Love you, and so now go to bed...by the way,we have ice all over the trees and it's going down to about 11 degrees tonight--at least we still have power....so far, but 195,000 were without it around here and are in shelters and hotels...some fun...

Love,
Grandma Andrea
