Mr. E. Bunny
I was sick the past couple days, some sort of virus I am assuming. Yesterday I started to feel better and left my bed. The sun hit me as soon as I stepped outside and it felt not like the normal harshness from midday, but instead it gave me a boost of energy after being locked up in my room. I stretched from side to side getting my joints working again and took in the fresh air. I do not plan on getting sick again until 2010... one can dream can't they?
Alphonse and I decided to eat a big breakfast this morning. I sat at the table and started chopping tomatoes and onions while he went into town to buy some eggs. We drank hot chocolate and bread and jelly and stuffed our bellies full of food for the day.
Tomorrow is Easter and I am a bit disappointed that there is no Easter Bunny here. Actually the people I explained the Easter Bunny to were slightly confused. I took this as a hint that I will not be getting any Cadbury eggs this year, not even a single jelly bean. I wouldn't even mind if it were a black jelly bean, my least favorite. I do know that we will eat pate or foufou as a feast though, which does not bother me in the least nowadays.
Tomorrow will be full of singing and dancing by the village with young and old together in dresses and suits of colorfully designed fabrics (pagne). I know at about 6am I will hear the drums commence. Being so close to the Catholic Church makes my home an ongoing concert, but I don't normally mind, my radio batteries are always dead.
So today I decided to do some relaxing to make sure being sick is out of my system for good and enjoying the day. After Easter is the start of a lot of new projects and I want to be ready. I hope that everyone is in good health back home and I love you very much. Happy Easter, and tell Mr. E. Bunny that he needs to expand, I want my chocolate!
xoxo
P.S. There is nothing wrong with coloring Easter eggs. :)

Hi, Miss Jessica,
I'm not the Easter Bunny, but I will try to get some some jelly beans and chocolate bunnies, etc. to you as soon as all of the candy is marked down to what I can afford, after Easter....on Wednesday I will finally have some money to blow on a $40.00 Priority Mail box to send you some stuff---I just hope it gets to you before the Fourth of July, and if I send chocolate, I hope it doesn't melt before you get it...
I heard about the chicken, your mother told me about the poor thing today...also that you have a computer to use while staying with your "family."
I'm glad you're better, and I hope nothing else bad happens to you ever again....You're tough, as you are directly descended from Charlemagne, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, and Eleanor of Aquataine, just to name a few...William the Conqueror......so you can get through anything, hopefully..and God is always with you---I am not surprised He'd locate you near a church there in South Africa. "Sister Jessica...."
Black jelly beans are your Aunt Teri's very favorite...I used to send her bags of them for Easter...and you don't like them at all?...they get your tongue pretty black...I guess she's doing well, by the way, and Bob took her home yesterday afternoon...she won't be eating much tomorrow, or for awhile...poor kid...
Well, I'd better go to work dusting and vacuuming my apartment---I'm a bit late in the house cleaning today---it was so nice out that I had to ride my bike and also go to the library...tomorrow Peachy and I will sit around and watch movies and munch on cheese/crackers, chips, ice cream, and all of the other fattening things his mommy shouldn't eat...gotta lose some weight--not much, but some...
Happy, Happy, Happy Easter...
Love always,
Grandma Andrea XOXOXOXOXOXOXO it's 10:31pm and I haven't boiled my eggs yet... in two years you can come and help me with my Easter egg dying....XOXOXOXO
ps: more pictures pleas...
Love,
Grandma Andrea

hey jess, I need your email address (the one associated with your blog)because I want to start making mine private. I have an idea for a SUPER post involving pictures and brief bios of all of the people I usually talk about so you'll know who is doing what. and I also wanted to start getting a little more personal... soooooooo you should let me know :D
Glad you're feeling better. I hope you don't get sick again :)
I miss you lots and just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking of you and sending my love <3
Jess, I just have to tell you this. If you have not already heard of Susan Boyle, you must hear her sing. What a voice!!! I have listened at least a dozen times and I still sit here with tears rolling down my face. She is another Kate Smith!!! Go to youtube and search Susan Boyle. Then select one of the selections where she sings. You will love her. What a voice!! You know, Jess, that I don't get excited about just any singer. It has to be something good for me to listen. She is GREAT!! Take a listen.
Love You, Granny
Jess!
I miss you. I think of you allll the time! Did you know Maggie is getting married? To Loopy. I don't know if you even know him... Her wedding (so weird!) is supposed to be in the fall. I'm a bridesmaid! I wish you could be there :( Atlanta just isn't Atlanta without you.
Kind of funny considering both of us are from NY. Anyway, I suppose I'll have to sacrifice for the greater good. :)
So on a completely separate subject that you can't really smoothly segue into... I just got this gigantic tumor removed a couple weeks ago. (Totally benign, no worries!) Been there for years most likely. (Who knew?) It was the size of a large grapefruit. Maybe a little bigger. I'm almost all better now. I even go back to work on Friday. Joy. :)
Happy Earthday! Think of me if you do end up planting a tree. It is now officially my 22nd birthday. I haven't left the house since I got home from the hospital and I didn't exactly enjoy that experience. (I ended up having to basically have a c-section. Turns out those SUCK on the pain scale.) Btw, I totally agree with you about not getting sick till 2010... but I think we should make it 2015. or maybe 2087 ;). I wish I could visit you to celebrate! That would definitely get me excited about today.
I really do think of you all the time. At least every time I get on the computer... Did you know that your phone is still on AIM? lol Oh man, you should go on http://www.meebo.com/ (if you can) when you get on a computer and send me a message. It's a way of getting on AIM without downloading anything. It'd more than make my month. I'm glad you're feeling better... though this was posted a while ago. No more getting sick or snake business okay? Stay well. And post more pictures when you can! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I miss you're beautiful face!
Love you, miss you, xoxox you,
Suziā„
Dear Jessica,
I am so glad your friend is ok, and I just read her comments..Sounds like you have such a bunch of good friends that miss you since you graduated last June--- almost a year ago...I have your graduation picture in my front entrance of my apartment and yesterday one of the managers came in for a minute, and on her way out she said you were very pretty...I told her where you are---and a little bit about the snake that almost got you...she said you are pretty brave and I should be so proud of you...and of course, I definitely am...Miss you, Babe...
Love,
Grandma Andrea XOXOXOXO
Hi Jessica,
Hope you're well....I'm going to your Uncle Pat and Aunt Lisa's for Dylan's First Communion...I will arrive there on Friday night and come home on Monday from Cortland....I wish you could be there but I will take some pictures to send you on your e-mail site...Dylan recited his prayer for the Communion in Latin, over the phone, and he said it's so easy...he's very smart and awfully cute...like you and your brothers and your cousins...it should be an interesting get together...I'm taking my tennis racquet in case anyone can bat the tennis ball with me at some court around there...I need exercise...your uncle and your aunts and all all used to play tennis...Pat used to do belly flops...
Take care, and I love you, and miss you...
Love,
Grandma Andrea XOXOXOXO
Hi Cousin Jessica,
I'm making my First Communion today, and I have my two front teeth missing: I am on the Little League baseball team called the Angels....We're leaving in a little while for Church...
Love,
Dylan XOXOXOXO
Ps:my secretary, Grandma Andrea typed this for me and sends her love along with my parents..XOXOXO
Hi, Miss Jessica,
I received my very beautiful birthday card from you yesterday: I returned home from my very nice trip to Cortland at about 10:30 pm Monday...picked up Peachy at the vet's where he boarded on Tuesday...he and I have been laying around the house, mostly, since I was pretty exhausted...and I think he was too....last night I did take the bus and got some groceries...
The card you sent is beautiful, and thank you for the lovely letter---yes, I just turned "25" years old, like you thought---ha, ha, ha...
It was so nice to turn around, after the first communion Sunday, and see Tammy, Zoey, Christian and Lauren across the aisle and up a couple of rows in the side pews--oh, and Tammy's boyfriend, Bruce Diaz. I didn't know they were there---Pat, Lisa, her sister Amanda, and another lady, named Eileen or Ellen and I were in the reserved seats for Dylan's family....I wish you could have been there...Dylan looked so cute, all dressed up in a tie and dress shirt...
The reception was nice at the American Legion and I took about 200 photos of people between that and the day before at the Little League opening ceremonies....
I hope you are ok...Library's closing and I have to close...for now
Love, always,
Grandma Andrea XOXOXOXO
JESS!!! WHERE ARE YOU??? CALL ME when you can - I miss you and love you so much!!!
MOMxoxoxosmackxoxoxo
Jessica,
Your mother sounds worried, so I hope you call or write to her soon, as I hope she's not too stressed...Being her mother, I worry about her a lot also, even though she thinks she's a "grown up", she's still my first baby, you know...Maybe you'll call her on Mothers' Day tomorrow...she has a lot on her plate....so to speak...also, I mentioned a lady who sat with us in Church---her name is Elaine and she is very nice, and she's like a great grandmother to Dylan, on Lisa's side...
I hope you're ok...I'm sorry your package hasn't come yet, but I spent the money on the trip to Cortland---my budget got a bit "screwed up", so to speak...I feel like a heel for not getting the candy to you yet, but I will have some money on the 20th and it will be in the mail, I promise...
Hi, Alphonse....Hi to the family...
Love,
Grandma Andrea
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Hi Jess. I miss yiu sooo much! I have been without a computer for several months, partially because I have been too busy to take it in to be repaired and partially because I as getting prepared for surgery. I know how Easter feels without chocolate bunnies and jelly beans, my dinner consited of 4ounces of chicken broth. as of last Thursday I am back on solid food. I am sorry to hear you have been sick so much of the time you have been there but I enjoy reading your blog. Great picture of you and Alphonse-you have lost so much weight and look very grown up. I miss ours conversations. Know I'm thinking of you. Aunt Teri
Hi, Jess...
I will be able to mail you some things that you need soon...I just wish it didn't take so long for you to get the stuff...I hope the chocolate I have had packed for almost a month is still good by the time you get it...I know how badly you need supplies for the school children, and how hard you are working there...we are all so proud of you, and hope that you are ok....
I see my wonderful daughter, your Aunt Teri, has written---she looks fabulous and I am so proud of her also...it must be very hard for her to get through the stuff she's gone through, but the girls in our family are all very, very tough chicks...it's in our DNA, Thank God....We're totally blessed with strength...(Pat and the guys don't do too badly either...I think my son and grandsons are the very greatest)....Lisa and Bob were wonderful to me during my visit to Pat's, Lisa's and Dylan's in Cortland for the First Communion (so I've also lucked out in the son and the daughter-in-law department also)...St. Mary's Catholic Church was absolutely beautiful, and I had always wanted to see the inside since I was born there, but never had the chance. "A little child shall lead the way.."
I love you and hope you can get hold of your worried mother soon...she really misses you as do we all....
Love always,
Grandma XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Well, I have tried calling for about 2 weeks now. I believe the message in French is telling me that the number is not in service :(
I am glad you are succeeding and fitting in.
Hi to Alphonse :D
I am hoping too that the sickness is done with
Dear Jessica,
I mailed a box to you today, but unfortunately it was packed about a month ago with chocolate bunnies: I hope they're still good when you finally get the package...it would have been sent sooner but something else came up for which I needed the money ......I am crossing my fingers that what I had packed in that box is still good: they said at the po that it would take only ten days to 2 weeks, so I hope you check your mail periodically...I'm very sorry it took me so long to send it...I would have opened up the box to check things out but it was glued so tightly and packed so tight with stuff that I didn't dare pull it apart and try to repack it: I am pretty much the moniless member of the family, but far from poor....as I have all of you---your aunts, your uncles, your mother, your brothers and your cousins---can't beat that.........and a lot of help from my dear friends, including my "adopted daughter", Sue....
Love,
Grandma Andrea XOXOXOXO
FYI Everyone - Jess just called me (5/27) and she sounded great. She said she's just been "broke" and hasn't been able to call for that reason. She said she will call me next Wed. She also said she received a box from one of her friends and she was very grateful. -Tracy
